When construction work there began to slow his family packed up again and moved to North Texas on Christmas Day in 1996. They lived with a family of five in his uncle's one bedroom apartment in Las Colinas for about a year until they got on their feet. At the age of 15, Daniel got his first job making $5.25 an hour working at the local Chuckie Cheese hosting birthday parties and dressing up as a giant rat. In high school Daniel was a competitive gymnast and worked as a coach after school teaching tumbling classes and boys gymnastics. Daniel was the only one of his siblings that graduated high school in 2003.
